Worms!!

As you may have noticed Mrs. Bohall and I are very new to the blog world.  I am going to try to make it my goal for the next couple of weeks of school to make some kind of blog post.  It is been so long since I posted anything I had to send Mrs. Rigsby a SOS text because I completely forgot how to post!

Last week we read the story Diary of a Worm by Doreen Cronin.  This lead to our study of worms.  We learned a lot of interesting facts about how worms help the earth.  We also learned that earthworms have five hearts!!
Since we are learning about measurement in math we measured night crawlers in inches and centimeters.  As you may be able to tell by the pictures some of us were more than willing to touch the worms and some of us were not!  I fell into the not category!

Just a little reminder that Leprechaun traps are due next Wednesday, March 16.   The students will be presenting their traps so it would be a good idea to practice at home.  They will be asked to tell us what supplies they used and how the trap works.  Mrs. Bohall and I are really looking forward to seeing and hearing about their wonderful traps.  I'll make sure to post pictures.  Hopefully we will be able to catch the little guy this year!!

Hello First Grade kiddos!

We've had a super fun week with all of our Dr. Seuss activities!  Monday we had a special "Dr. Seuss" mix that the kids loved!  Tuesday we had "Green Eggs and Ham" as a yummy breakfast treat. Wednesday, we had crazy things in our pockets...look out!  Thursday was "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" day and we had a "fishy" snack.  Friday we saw lots of crazy socks for "Fox in Socks" day and we made a mess making Oobleck!

Lots of fun in first!  We will be posting some pictures of some of our fun activities, so stay tuned!!!
